Grisham's Playing for Pizza in top 3!

Grisham's Playing for Pizza in top 3!

When two best-selling authors release novels on the same day (Sept. 24), only one can claim the top spot on USA Today’s Best-Selling Books list. That spot this week goes to The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. John Grisham is a close second at No. 2 with Playing for Pizza. This is the second time these two megastars have released books simultaneously. In September 2003, Grisham’s Bleachers entered the list at No. 2, while Sparks’ The Wedding was No. 4. What gave Sparks the edge? “Nicholas Sparks is out there meeting with his fans all the time,” says Carol Fitzgerald of Bookreporter.com. “John Grisham isn’t doing that much at a time when this really matters. The relationship with the fan base is huge these days.”

This was probably the worst book I’ve ever paid for. There was no plot, no enticing character, nothing at all to hold it together. Please tell John Grisham to take a deep breath before publishing another.
